Jim Huband, Dog Trainer & Behavioral Therapist
I’ve been in your shoes. Years ago, I was frustrated with my own dog’s behavior…jumping up, barking, etc. That was actually what prompted me to become a dog trainer. That was 15 years ago. Fast forward to today, I’ve trained hundreds of dogs and their owners. It is challenging at times, but that is far outweighed by the results- happy dogs and happy families.
Over the years, I’ve trained so many great dogs and their people. No two households have been the same, and I enjoy finding ways to tailor my approach to fit the needs and strengths of each family. My favorite thing about being a dog trainer is seeing peoples’ reactions when their dog behaves for the first time: stops barking, stops jumping up, stops barging out the door or crate. People say, “Wow, I’ve never seen my dog do that before!”
I grew up in Montgomery County, Maryland, and have always loved animals, and have worked with them in various capacities. I have worked with dogs at vet hospitals and the Montgomery County Humane Society.
When I’m not working, I enjoy playing guitar, working on my car, and of course, spending time with my wife, daughters, cats, and dogs, Dakota and Radar (named, of course, after Radar O’Reilly from M*A*S*H).
